ROGER HOAG Memoriam

Roger Sanford Hoag was born Aug 1, 1947, in San Francisco, California, to the late Gael Sanford Hoag and Irma Alicia (Stavro) Hoag.
He graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City, class of 1966. He enlisted in the army in 1967 and became a staff driver for the "Brass," some of which were Gen. Cole and Gen. Westmoreland. He then served two tours in Vietnam as a medic at Cam Ronh Bay.
Upon leaving the military he became a reserve police officer for the city of San Carlos, after which he worked in Silicon Valley in the wire and cable industry. He was married to Nancy Jane (Smirle) Hoag for 45 years and had three amazing children: Jessica Ann (Hoag) Cole, and her spouse, Sean Christopher Cole; Joshua David Hoag, and his spouse, Sarah (Van Bibber) Hoag; and April Ann (Hoag) Borja, and her spouse Enrique Alejandro Borja. He also adored his seven grandchildren, Clayton David Hoag, Rowan Joshua Hoag, Liberty Mac Kenzie Hoag, Blake Levi Borja, Ryan Camille Borja, Cameron Jacob Cole and Ella Joy Cole. He is also survived by his sisters Denise Clow and Marla Steigman; brother-in-law, John Clow; a niece, Samantha Clow' and a nephew, Zachary Clow; and his mother-in-law, Evelyn "Dorothy" (Jordon) Smirle.
After moving to Twain Harte in 2006, he began a cabin watch business, twainhartecabinwatch.com. He was known as the "Cabin Watch Guy." He loved his clients and being able to make sure their properties were safe and well run. Among his hobbies were breakfast at The Sportsman in Twain Harte, playing congas and Latin percussion, and working out. He attended Chapel in the Pines for many years and enjoyed playing in the worship band and being an usher.
