Ann Szostak Obituary

HAMILTON
Ann Frances (Nicoloro) Szostak, 76, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, NJ.

Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, she graduated from high school in 1965 and continued her education at Elms College in Chicopee, MA. It was here that she received her Bachelor's Degree in French and Education. She served as a French Teacher in Hopkinton, MA for a year.

In 1970, Ann and Daniel were wed and moved to Ithaca, NY together where Ann taught French at Lansing Central School in Ludlowville, NY. In 1971, Ann and Daniel relocated to Bernardsville, NJ where she continued to teach French at Bernards High School until 1973.

Ann and Daniel decided to plant their roots in Hamilton, NJ in 1972. It was during this time that she attended Trenton State College and earned her Master's Degree in 1977 in Student Personnel Services. Ann took a position at Lenape Regional High School as a Guidance Counselor. She served the student body for 25 years, inspiring students and innovating student programs. She also offered her culinary knowledge to the Lenape Community through the Italian Cooking Show she hosted in the Lenape District Television Channel. In 1978, Ann realized her greatest dream, when she welcomed her daughter, Jessica in to her home.

Ann retired in 2002, but it did not agree with her. So, she took in a number of part-time jobs, eventually settling on teaching at the Goddard Pre-School. Ann truly served children of all ages, from preschool to high school.

In 2013, thanks to Jessica and son-in-law, Scott, Ann got to enjoy her second greatest dream, her grandson, Roman, whom she spoiled for 10 beautiful years.

Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Anna Nicoloro; and her sisters, Camille and Sylvia; she is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Daniel J. Szostak; her daughter, Jessica and husband, Scott; her beloved grandson, Roman; and her many loving cousins, nephews and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church, 3816 East State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.

Entombment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, NJ.
