My sympathy goes out to those who knew and loved Jim. He was a vibrant thinker and a great seeker after truth in all ways -- literary, philosophical, historical. He contributed a great deal to a Shakespeare seminar which I led; his energy and commitment to our discussions were inspirational for the students. He will be missed.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was my linguistics student at WMU and was so smart and funny and diligent. He contributed so much to our class. I send every wish for comfort and healing to his family and friends.
