Ivadell Peterson Obituary

Ivadell L. "Ivy" Peterson, 100, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, December 31, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Campbell Cemetery in Bertram Township on Mt. Vernon Road in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family. Ivadell was born March 4, 1923, in Fulda, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Emma Otterbein. At the age of nine, she and her parents moved to northwest Iowa where she received her education. She attended Northwest Institute of Med. Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was employed at Ellsworth Hospital until her marriage to Clayton Peterson on August 16, 1953. She was active in her church and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed being around people. Survivors include her daughter, Diane Peterson of Rolla, Missouri; and three grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and dear friend, Jodie.
