Brenna Brown Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brenna Marie Brown, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend, on December 30, 2024, at the age of 46, after a battle with cancer. Brenna had her family and closest friends by her side.

Brenna was born June 26, 1978, in Schenectady and was a long-time resident of Scotia, NY and a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. Many people knew Brenna for her hard work, dedication and selflessness, always taking care of others. She had many beloved co-workers that she would go above and beyond for. Brenna had a love for being in the kitchen, from a kitchen manager to catering, and in 2020 found a new love for working for the United States Postal Service. Above all, Brenna's greatest joy was being a mother to her two children.

Brenna is survived by her children, Shakeer Brown and Kelsey (Maya) Davies-Brown; her mother, Linda Mossey; her siblings, Kateri (Patrick) Trippany and Andrew (Stephanie) Mossey; her honorary sister-for-life, Jeannie Johnson; and her fiancé, Gregory Morley, and his son Jaxon.

As per Brenna's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A private celebration of life will be held in her honor. However, we invite you to raise a green tea shot and toast to Brenna - as she always reminded us, she will be watching! In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenna's memory may be made to the NYOH Foundation, to help support others in cancer treatment. We would like to extend our gratitude to Community Hospice, who ensured that Brenna was comfortable in her final days.

I was shocked to learn about Brenna's diagnosis- I have no doubt she put up a fight, that who she was. I will always cherish the times we had together, working at GE, cocktails at 151, Kelsey's basketball games, nights around your fire. You were an amazing mom, daughter, & friend. You will be deeply missed! Rest easy Brenna!!

Shakeer and Kelsey, Ms Mossey and family,

I was so very sad to hear about Brenna's passing. She was always a kind, funny and joyful person to talk with here at GE Research and made every person feel like they mattered. She made many people's day with her effervescent personality.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Shakeer and Kelsey, your mom was so proud of you. She always loved sharing stories about you and her heart would burst with pride. She loved her annual visits to the beach and she was one of the hardest workers I know. May the beautiful memories you have of your Mom bring you comfort in the days to come.

I remember many years ago Brenna came to RI to help Kat with her store. She brought Shakeer who was just a baby at the time. We worked long and hard. We had many laughs as we worked. I believe that was the first time I had met Brenna. I will always remember her being a hard worker and she loved her kids fiercely. May you rest in peace Brenna
