Fox, Mark Nicholas
Mark Nicholas Fox, 57, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on May 27, 2021. He was born on June 8, 1963, to Patrick and Dolores Fox in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1981. Mark graduated from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO in 1985 with a bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He was a member of TKE Kappa Nu Chapter. Mark worked as a consultant for Daugherty Systems in St. Louis for 30 years. Previously, he had worked at Southwestern Bell from 1983-89.
Mark was a quiet, kind, caring and helpful son, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed riding his bike on the Katy trail and was an avid bike rider. He rode in the MS 150 to raise money for multiple sclerosis and participated in many long-distance bike riding vacations with friends. Mark had a wonderfully sarcastic, dry sense of humor and was not one to let any opportunity at a joke pass him by. He was always a willing best man, usher, and photobooth creator for family weddings. He would do anything for his nieces and nephews, who affectionately knew him as 'Mark Shark,' the namesake of their annual Thanksgiving fishing-for-toys game and instigator of much silliness and sarcasm. His nieces and nephews meant the world to him. Mark will be dearly missed and remembered with love by his parents, of Columbia, MO; siblings, Steve (Sara El-toumi) Fox of Columbia, Kathy Fox (formerly Galloway) of Columbia, Gina (Jaimie) Henderson of Redwood City, CA, Mike (Lisa Bassler) Fox of St. Charles, MO, and Joseph (Joe) (Amy Sievert) Fox of Concord, CA; former brother-in-law, Marty Galloway; 16 nieces and nephews, Rhiannon (Ben) Lake, Andrew Brunnert, Bryce (Jessica) Beecher, Ian Henderson, Alyssa (Zach) Alley, Eliza Henderson, Elliot Fox, Sarah (Abe) Martinez, Julianna Fox, Hannah Fox (David Gregory), Samantha Nielsen, Ben Fox, Hanna Nielsen, Becca Henderson (Ricki Hoffer), Logan Galloway, and John (Jack) Fox; 6 grandnieces and grandnephews with 2 more on the way; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark's legacy includes the great impact he has already had on several lives via organ donation. The family would like to thank first responders for all you do. Your selflessness means everything to us.
Services: Visitation and a memorial service will be held at Bopp Chapel on Wednesday, June 2 (see website for details) and a private, family celebration of life and burial service will be held in Columbia.

Met Mark back in high school at St. Louis U High. He was a year ahead of me in school but we always got along really well. As I guess life happens, we drifted apart and I was deeply saddened to hear of his untimely passing. I truly regret not having the chance to reacquaint myself with Mark. He really was a great guy and based on what I've read about him now am certain that we would have gotten along now even better than high school. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

I worked with Mark at Daugherty for 21 years. Mark was the ultimate professional. I could always count on Mark to help resolve the most complex problems. He freely shared his knowledge and expertise. I never worked with anyone with such a calming personality. We will miss Mark. I am so sorry for your loss.

Mark and I worked together for a few months at Daugherty around 3 to 4 years ago. Great guy, easy to talk to, was clear that he loved his family. Sorry to hear of your loss.
