Kathryn Sugrue Obituary

Sugrue, Kathryn Kelsey "Kitty"

September 15, 1947 - January 12, 2025

Passed away on January 12, 2025. She was born on September 15, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana to Margaret (Gould) Kelsey and William Kelsey. She was the oldest of six siblings, including William Kelsey, Jr of St. Louis, Wendy Rolf of Patriot, Indiana, Dr John Kelsey of Chicago, Sue (Larry) Blum of Cincinnati and the late Kevin Kelsey. Kitty was the mother to Bay (Paula) Miltenberger of Dallas, Texas, Ann (Brad) Boles of Plano, Texas and Ted (Jennifer) of Richardson, Texas. She was grandmother to Bryce (Katie), Bo, Brady, Brooks, Will, Miley, and Gracey Miltenberger and Jake and Libby Boles. She was the step-mother of Lisa (Rick) Collins, Dan Sugrue, and Katie (Eric) Goodman. Kitty worked as a paralegal at Armstrong Teasdale for 18 years. She loved swimming, cooking, and a cocktail with her many friends and neighbors. Kitty proudly made the decision to donate her body to the Washington University School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held in her honor at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road in Kirkwood on Thursday, January 23rd at 3:00pm. Following the service, please join her family and friends to toast her life and share Kitty stories (of which there are many) at Algonquin Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Siteman Cancer Center of St Louis or your favorite school's PTA/PTO.

My sincere condolences to Kitty´s family. It was my honor to work as a caregiver to Kitty for two years. I will always remember our walking the pool at Algonquin early each morning when we had the pool to ourselves chatting the whole way. We worked a puzzle together every morning & Kitty, John & I took turns trying to see who figured it out first. We were so disappointed when they stopped publishing it. I took her to physical therapy & exercised with her & we shared many stories together, talking about our families. I really loved Kitty Kat. May she rest in eternal peace.
