Ellen Petrea Hardy

August 1, 1943 - February 20, 2025

Hardy, Ellen Petrea, 81, of Mechanicsville, formerly from Tappahannock, went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2025, after a long fight with Parkinson's. She is survived by her two children, Mary Ellen Finch (Michael) of Yuma, AZ and John David Hardy (Katharine) of Lenoir, NC; five grandchildren; her sister, Rebekah, and other extended family. Ellen was a Registered Nurse and served her various communities faithfully as she and her husband, John, moved with the military. Her final years were spent at Covenant Woods where she enjoyed time with good friends especially the Einsmanns, Donna Horn and Peggy Reid. Ellen was cared for by amazing caregivers on "A" Wing especially, Quinn and Diane. Loving thanks to Traditions Hospice for such honoring care at the end of her life. A remembrance service at Covenant Woods and burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.
