Casimir Drechney Jr. Obituary

Casimir Joseph Drechney Jr., known to his family and friends as "Casey" or "Kub", 64, of Rockford, IL passed away on January 8, 2022. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 6, 1957 to Casimir and Eleanor (Orlikowski) Drechney. He attended St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church and served as an altar boy in Chicago. His family moved to Marengo, IL where he graduated from Marengo High School. He was a proud volunteer firefighter for the Marengo Fire Dept for over 10 years. He worked for Warner Electric for 26 years. He worked at Air Management and also started his own business, KC1Services. He was very knowledgeable, skilled and dedicated his life to helping others. He was the heart and soul of his family. A shining example of true love and commitment. A dedicated and loving father, papa, brother, and uncle. He inspired us all everyday with his selfless love, strength, encouragement, creativity, and humor. All who knew him spoke of what a blessing he was and how he touched their lives. Dad, you will always be our hero.

Casimir is survived by his children; Brian (Michelle) Drechney, Amy (Matt) York, C.J. Drechney and Chantel (fiancé Joshua Pickett) Drechney; his grandchildren, Bradley, Skyler, Isabella, Griffin, Nathanael, Abigail, Timothy, Rebekah, Matthew Jr., Leila, Ivory, Jace, and Joseph; his siblings Gary (Jeweldean) Drechney, and Mary (Ken) Wonser; his nephews, Guy and Troy; and his niece Ellie. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael Drechney; his infant grandson, Wesley Pickett; his Uncle Ray and Auntie Babs Orlick and his daughter-in-law, Christina Drechney.

Funeral Service for Casimir will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service with burial in Marengo Cemetery. The family has requested for everyone to share stories and pictures of Casimir on the Tribute Wall.
