Robert Boyd Obituary

Robert Boyd
12/21/1952 - 06/26/2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Boyd, who died peacefully at the age of 72 after a long illness. Born on December 21, 1952, in San Francisco, Bob was the beloved son of Haig and Rosalie Boyd.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bob will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering support, and deep generosity. He is survived by his loving wife Leslie, his daughter Carrie (Matt), his son Brian (Teresa), and his treasured granddaughters Ericka (Karli), Mia, and Madison. He also leaves behind his devoted sisters Carol Boyd, Jean Berner, and Diane Kantoff (Dave), and his nephew Justin Kantoff.
Bob shared a lifelong friendship with his childhood companion and "brother for life," Greg Anzelc (Lynne), and maintained close ties with many friends from his upbringing in the Sunset District of San Francisco.
Bob graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1970 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from UC Davis in 1974.
He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Cammisa and Wipf Consulting Engineers, where he served as a partner for many years. His contributions spanned a wide range of notable and challenging projects, including work on the Exploratorium, Monterey Bay Aquarium, California Science Center, Transamerica Tower, 345 California, and numerous hospitals over his 36-year tenure with the firm.
Bob's warmth, intelligence, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy is one of love, friendship, and lasting impact.

Met Bob freshman year at UC Davis in Beckett Hall in Fall of 1970 where we were close friends and played softball together for four years. We were roommates sophomore and junior years. Great student, great friend and great electrical engineer. We were both from the City and the Sunset and bonded although Bob went to Lincoln and I went to Catholic schools. I have great pictures of Bob and Leslie from my wedding. For the whole last year both Jack Feeney and me from UCD were searching for him in Walnut Creek to get together but not successful. I did not even know he was sick. One of best guys I´ve ever known and I´ve known a lot. Rest in peace, Bob
