Brant Thompson Obituary

Brant Andrew Thompson, age 41, loved and cherished partner to Sonja Willie, died May 22, 2024 in an automotive accident the day before his birthday.
Befriended by Emilio and Toni Walker Mascarenas; he came to find his home on the Uintah and Ouray Reservation in Fort Duchesne, Utah.
Brant was born May 23, 1982, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Lonnie Thompson and Lori Bellamy Thompson and raised by his loving grandfather and grandmother, Marion "Junior" and Rachel Thompson.
Brant was a man of many talents and a hard worker. He was a plumber by trade, taught by his stepfather, David Simpson. He did many construction projects on the Reservation while employed with Wopsock Excavation. He relished repairing old items and making them run like new. Brant was a farmer at heart and planned to build his own greenhouse and chicken coop. He was a Beer Master, making the most delicious coffee and chocolate beer and watermelon wine. He enjoyed golfing and making friends at the various golf tournaments he played.
Brant loved life. He loved looking at the stars at night and naming the constellations, he wanted to visit all of the national parks in Utah, fascinated by the many colors and shapes of the geologic structures. Brant enjoyed watching the many hummingbirds as they fluttered around the feeders he hung. He enjoyed gardening, using his horticulture skills to plant his vegetable garden, watering and weeding, and then harvesting to share and eat. He adored feeding and watering horses, especially caring for Arrow. Brant filled our lives with beauty, planting roses, wildflowers, and trees wherever he could.
Brant touched many lives helping all in need. He was kind, considerate, and well thought of by family and friends. He was happiest working around our home, keeping it beautiful and well maintained. He respected the traditional ways of the Ute Indian and Navajo tribes.
We will miss you Brant for all that you have done and the beauty you brought into our lives.
Brant was preceded by his grandparents, stepfather, and his beloved pit-bull, Blu.
He is survived by his companion and her sons, Jesse (Lisa), Willie (Jade), and Emilio (Toni), and his many friends.
The family would like to thank the following; Ute Tribe Fish and Wildlife, Ute Tribe and BIA Police Dept., Ute Tribe Security, Ute Tribe Ambulance Service, TJ Tires and Uintah County Sheriff.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Fort Duchesne Community Building. A wake will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, after 2:00 p.m. at his home in Fort Duchesne, Utah.
Burial will be in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
