Edward Berg Obituary

Anacortes - Edward Berg passed away peacefully on August 3rd surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, he was the youngest of seven children.

After his honorable service in the Navy, Ed attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He went on to a successful career at The Great Northern/Burlington Northern Railroad. He was a well-known figure in the Transportation Club of San Francisco, where his expertise at dominos earned him both admiration & friendly grumbles from those who couldn't keep up.

Passionate about his Norwegian heritage, Ed was known for his love of aquavit and a peculiar, yet enthusiastic, defense of lutefisk.

He was an active member of the Kiwanis club, and Anacortes Lutheran Church.

Ed was the beloved husband of Marcia, proud father to daughters; Inda, Tamara, & Kristen, and delighted in being grandfather to Owen & Leif. His family extends to sons-in-law John & Alberto and to many nieces and nephews.

Ed will be remembered fondly for his generosity, playful spirit, and the countless ways he made life a little more memorable and a lot more fun.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM, September 20th at Anacortes Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ship Harbor Interpretive Preserve, via the Anacortes Parks Foundation website.
