Alene Marie Moore

April 25, 1936 - October 4, 2023

Alene Marie Moore of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. She passed away peacefully at the age of 87 surrounded by family.

Alene loved planning get-togethers and cooking for her family. Anyone who met her loved her. She read her Bible daily and loved the Lord. Alene retired from Roanoke City Public Schools.

Alene was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Jacobs; loving husband of 58 years, Leon Moore; and her sons, James and Terry Moore.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Richard Moore. Grandchildren left to cherish memories with are granddaughters, Nikki Logan and husband, Eric Logan, daughter, Amoni Logan, sons, Quentin Slash and special friend, Elly Hurd, Kai Logan, Austin Slash, and Quinn Logan, Corey Ensminger and husband, Michael Ensminger, son, Michael, daughters, Finley and Harper, grandson, Cody Hicks, and daughter, Haylen Hicks. She will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Oakey's East Chapel with Roger McKinney officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.Oakeys.com.
