Marilyn Carter, 88, of Davenport, IA, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Country Manor Memory Care.
Per her wishes no public services will be planned. Cremation rites have been accorded. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Marilyn was born December 6, 1935, to Jesse and Velma (Schmidt) Miller in Moline, IL. On October 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Carter. He preceded her in death in September of 2022. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage together.
Marilyn enjoyed playing the piano, sewing plastic canvas, garage sales and singing/playing music and traveling in the motorhome with Chuck.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Connie (Tandy) Fitzgerald, Cedar Rapids and Judy Johnson, Davenport; grandchildren: Caine (Joy) Fitzgerald, Parker, CO, Gretchen (Doug) Ollar, Moline, IL and Alex Waddell, Davenport; along with 13 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, and granddaughter.
The family would like to thank Mariah, Brittany, Allissa, Belle and Dani at Country Manor Memory Care and all the staff from St. Croix Hospice for the kind and loving care they provided for her.
