Kathleen E. McNaught
July 28, 1946 - June 16, 2024
Kathleen "Kathy" E. McNaught, 77, left our world Sunday, June 16, 2024, after storied life lived in service, kindness, and humor.
Per her wishes, there will be no public service. Kathleen Elizabeth Foley was born July 28, 1946, to Richard Thomas and Frances Glory (Altfilisch) Foley in Davenport, IA. A graduate of Assumption High School's class of 1964, she went on to Davenport Barber College, receiving her diploma and licensure in 1976. While running her Davenport barbershop, she made time to offer her skills to seniors at local nursing homes.
In 1979, Kathy married her match in Philip A. McNaught. Together, they raised their daughters to be strong, smart, and kind, and welcomed the birth of each grandchild with open hearts and sheer joy.
Coming from a family of service, her daughters grown, she found her vocation counselling homeless kids at Valley Shelter Homes while working towards her foster care licensing.
Over many years, she and Phil fostered 53 children, shared a great love for the outdoors, and rescued countless stray pets.
Kathy collected art, grew happy plants, and enjoyed true crime. Ever adventurous, in earlier years Kathy travelled with her girls and practiced Kuk Sool Won.
She is survived by her beloved dog, Waldo ; daughters: Theresa Norman, Tina (Steve) Wagner, Brittany McNaught, Desiree Border; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Patrick (Rev. Mari Thorkelson) Foley, Nan(Patrick) Crossen, Elizabeth (Eric) Swanson, William Foley, and Diane (Shumate) Foley; her many nieces nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Phil; daughter, Krista (McNaught) Cuppy; and brother, Thomas Foley.
The family wishes to offer special gratitude to our angel, Carol; for her guidance, generosity, and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County.

Kathy was my brother Phil's soulmate. Since my brothers passing a few years ago I called Kathy to say hi and talk about Phil. I know Kathy missed him so much and we would often shed a tear and a good laugh about their life together. I was just telling myself I needed to give her a call and even though I missed calling her today I know she is happy now and at peace with Phil and Krista.
Few people pass through our lives that we will always remember and Kathy is one of them. Kathy and Phil had a happy life and treated each other with kindness and respect-what a blessing they were to each other.
Rest in peace - you will be missed.

As a high school friend, we shared many good times (some a little crazy) with our group. I´m so sad to read of her passing. She was a character and will be missed.
