Seamus Peter Ahern 44, Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away Wednesday October 9, 2024. Visitation will be 1:00 - 6:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL
Born on September 13, 1980, in Rock Island, IL., Seamus was the beloved son of the late John and Susan (Jansen) Ahern. A graduate of Alleman High School Class of 1999 and Loras College in 2005, Seamus pursued further studies, earning his master's from Johns Hopkins University. He married Amanda Ludwig on October 16th, 2010, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, IA. He was most recently employed by Deloitte. He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Seamus was a loving husband and father, a gregarious brother and uncle. Seamus deeply loved his faith, family and country.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda; children, Jack, Colin & Patrick, Bettendorf, IA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard & Brenda (Kluesner) Ludwig, Petersburg, IA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nicole & Tom Aleksiewicz, Oswego, IL; siblings, Catherine & Robert Clementi, Channahon, IL; Sean & Julie Ahern, Clare, IL; Dennis & Lisa Ahern Waterloo, IA; Regina & Brian Knobloch, Moline, IL; Kevin & Amy Ahern Hampton, IL; Brian Ahern, Telluride, CO, and Guila & Adam Bickford, Denver, CO; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John & Susan; sister, Mary Colleen; and brothers, Terrence, Michael and Timothy (USMC).
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Amanda Ahern & directed to the Van Hoe Funeral home for her behalf.

Seamus grew up in the neighborhood we live in. Always enjoyed when he came to visit the old neighborhood and stopped to chat. He was a great guy and we are so very sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and Prayers
