Jane was born in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Syl and Valora (Hyde) Novelli. She was a graduate of the University of Rochester and retired from Motor Components (formerly Bendix, Facet, and Purolator) in Elmira, New York.

In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her brother Paul Novelli.

In addition to her husband Ralph Allen, Jane is survived by son Peter Haight, daughter Melanie (Richard) McCann of Sebring, FL, grandson Liam McCann, stepson Todd (Ivy) Allen of Ithaca, NY, stepdaughter Tina (Steve) Gergely of Macedon, NY, step grandchildren Lauren Allen, Griffin Kiss, Camden Kiss and Emma Gergely.

The family expresses gratitude to Tidewell Hospice and Jane's part time care giver, Rose Beach-Walsh, who became a special friend to Jane in her final months.

It was Jane's wish that there be no services. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA.

Jane and the Novelli family were an important part of my live back in the 1960s. They were good-very good-years.
