Dolores Fischetti Obituary

DOLORES "DEE" FISCHETTI
Sunrise 2/23/1957 Sunset 8/15/2024
Dolores "Dee" Fischetti was born in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest child of Dolores (nee Phillips) and William Fischetti. She joins her parents, sister Pat, and brother Billy in heaven.
She is survived by her brother Michael (Angela) Fischetti, brother-in-law Phil Ania, her loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends in NY and Santa Fe. Though Dee was very proud of her Brooklyn, NY, upbringing and life there, she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2013 to explore broader horizons.
Please remember Dee as the bright light she often brought to many! Her memory will remain in the hearts of family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know and love her.
A gathering to celebrate her life and funeral mass will take place in Santa Fe next week, as well as a celebration of her life in New York in October.

Dee was one of my extraordinary students when I taught at SFCC. I will miss her bright light, great sense of humor and her dreams for her life. Via con Dios, Dee.

Dee was one of my elementary school classmates at St. Michael's in Brooklyn. She was a very intelligent and beautiful girl both inside and out. Her personality would light up any room she entered.
She was one of those rare souls who once you meet them, you can never forget them.

Rest in Power and Peace Dee.

To me, Dolores was "Aunt Dee Dee." She was one of my mom, Tammy Bruno's, closest friends. Growing up, she was without a doubt, one of my FAVORITE adults that my mom brought around. That's why I called her "Aunt" because even if she wasn't by blood, she sure felt like one to me. She always made me feel special. She never made me feel like just some little kid. She saw me. She treated me like I mattered just as much as an adult. She made me laugh, let me brush and style her beautiful curls, and played with me for hours. She was an amazing friend to my mother, as well. My mom was always extra happy when Aunt Dee Dee visited us. I was too. When I think of her, the first thing that comes to mind is her beautiful, big smile, her wild curly hair, and her big, enormous heart. She will be missed. I love you Aunt Dee Dee. You went far too young but I'm so happy you at least got to meet and hold MY first baby. My kids would love you just as much as I did. May you rest peacefully and know how loved you were.

You captured the room with your smile. God speed my friend.
