Ann L. Burlingham

June 22, 1928 - September 12, 2024

Ann Burlingham joined the love of her life on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Ann was born on June 22, 1928, in Kenosha, to Antonio and Concetta (Amato) Albano.

A feisty child, she defied her parents and quit high school to take a job at Jockey Inc. (known as Coopers at that time.) She became a gifted seamstress and prided herself on perfection when sewing labels on the garments.

She met her husband, Paul D. Burlingham, when he was home on leave from the Army. A handsome man in uniform, she always said she could not resist his charm. Upon the news of his upcoming deployment to Korea, a very hasty wedding was planned (spurring many rumors) and they married on September 16, 1950.

Although never having children, Ann was an ever-present "mother figure," active in the lives of her nieces and nephews, spoiling them in many ways. From loaning cars on prom night to homecoming dresses, Ann always found a way to fill the need of those she loved.

The absence of a high school diploma did not stop her from excelling. Raised with a strong work ethic, she strived to be the best she could be. Securing a position at the Brown National Bank was pivotal for her career. She had a true talent for working with numbers and banking was her niche. In her 28-year tenure at the bank, she worked her way through the ranks and retired as Bank Auditor. Her commitment to accuracy and integrity set her apart in her field, earning the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Ann will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Annamarie Albright (Joe), Paula Creech (David), Laura Carter (Steve), Connie Alexander (Jim), Marty Castellano (Linda), Ann Falco, Connie Rinaldi (Dave), Karen Jambrek (Mark); friends and colleagues.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; brothers, Paul, Louis and Rocco Albano; her sisters, Phyllis Castellano, Lucy Albano, and Lucille Lentine; her nephews, Anthony Castellano & Anthony Albano; her-great niece, Erica Albright; and her great-great nephew, Jesse Kammer.

Funeral services honoring Ann's life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 7400 39th Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation for Ann will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10 a.m., until the time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Luke's Children's Hospital at https://www.stlukesonline.org/ are appreciated.

Ann Burlingham will be remembered for being short, but mighty, generous & kind, stubborn & opinionated, helpful, but demanding. She could make you laugh and make you cry. She spoiled those she loved and made sure you knew she cared. Her legacy will live on in the memories and stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
