James White Obituary

WHITE
James W., of Ridgewood, NJ, and Hilton Head Island, SC, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. He was 87 years old. Born to James W. and Edith W. White of Paterson, NJ, and brother to Joan E. White of Pompton Plains, NJ, and Hilton Head Island, SC. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Jane Hall White who predeceased him. Loving father of Maryjane and her husband Martin Moynihan of Ridgewood, Caroline W. White of Jersey City, Kitty and Dr. John Sconzo of Queensbury, NY, and James H. and Jennifer White of Ridgewood. Dear grandfather of Martin Moynihan, Lawrence Sconzo, Andrew Sconzo, Michael Sconzo and Evan White. Step-grandfather of Marlaina Rohmann. He was a graduate of Blair Academy and Seton Hall University and an Army Veteran of WWII. For over 47 years he was the president of White & Shauger Inc. in Paterson, NJ. He was a member of the Paterson Rotary Club for over 50 years, a former Board member of the Paterson Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Board of Trustees at the Paterson YMCA.
A memorial service will be held at the Community Church of Glen Rock, 354 Rock Road, Glen Rock, NJ 07452 at 10 AM, on Saturday, July 27. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to the Valley Hospital Foundation, 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450, or the Hilton Head Island Humane Association, PO Box 21790, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925.
