Ruth McCaleb Obituary

Ruth Ella McCaleb was born January 13, 1966, in Manhattan, New York and was raised in New Orleans, LA. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Donna Wright. Ruth transitioned on August 8, 2024, at the age of 58. Ruth attended Joseph A. Craig Elementary and Andrew J. Bell Jr. High School. She also attended Sidney Collier Technical College where she received her CNA license and she went on to work for Great Expectations, New Orleans Medicaid Office, and the State of Texas Medicaid Office as a Medicaid Specialist. She was a devoted Christian and attend the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Donna Wright, grandmother Ruth Levy, two sons Norman and Sylvester, sister Cynthia Wright, and brother Paul Wright. Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory husband Sylvester McCaleb Jr., three daughters Latasha Wright, Cycynthia and Kashanii, brother Robert (Melissa) Wright, sisters Aretha (Randy) Nero, Tamika Kennie, sisters-in-law Sonja Penton, Nicole McCaleb, daughter-in-law Sherrie Wright, her loving uncle-in-law Hezzie McCaleb, cousins Brandon and Hezzie Jr., grandchildren Norman, Daniel, Ivan, Nas, Nariya, Syrus, Nylan, Nehemiah, Sylenia, Jade, twins Nicholas and Nicolette, 2 great-grandsons Jaden and Zion, great-granddaughter Normani, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss her dearly. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Friday, August 16, 2024, for 10:00 a.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA 70126.
