Jane Painter Dean

Wendell, North Carolina - Jane Painter Dean, 78, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021. She was born January 8, 1943 in Johnston County to the late James Elam Painter and Evelyn Boyette Painter. She graduated from Corinth Holders High School in 1961 and Rex Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. Jane worked as a Registered Nurse at Johnston Memorial Hospital for 42 years. She married the late Willard Richardson "WR" Dean, Jr. and together they had two sons: Dwayne Elam Dean (Kim) of Pikeville and the late Jeffrey Carroll Dean.
In addition to her son and daughter-in-law, Jane is survived by her grandchildren: Hunter Richardson Dean (Anna) of Pikeville, Kennedy Jane Dean of Pikeville; brothers: Robert Henry Painter of Wendell, Clifton Lee Painter (Deborah) of Wendell.
Jane was also preceded in death by her brother, James Alfred Painter.
A service to celebrate Jane's life will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Clyde's Chapel Baptist Church, 16657 Buffalo Road, Wendell, NC 27591 with Reverend Andy Stovall, The Bridge Church officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her beloved church, Clyde's Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund.
