Wesley Thompson Obituary

Wesley Dean Thompson, 64, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Liv Bona Dea, Baku, Azerbijan, where he was working at the time. Born in Rockford, Illinois, Wesley was the son of the late Floyd Thompson and Shirley (Royer) Thompson.

Wesley proudly served his country as an honorable veteran of the United States Navy. By trade, he was an aviation avionics technician-a career he excelled in and deeply loved. He worked for FEAM on the MMR team.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Theresa.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife, Deanna; his daughters, Kayla Thompson, Caroline Richmond, and Lacy Richmond; his brothers, Stephen Thompson (Kristi) of Salem, Indiana, and Michael Thompson of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; his sisters, Brenda Whitenack (John) of Fort Myers, Florida, and Vicky Lee of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Chloe, Destiny, Abby, Austin, and Jaxon, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Wesley was a graduate of Eastern High School in Pekin, Indiana. He was a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church and lived a life grounded in faith, family, and service.

He enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, and traveling, and he was known among friends and family as a true bourbon connoisseur. Wesley will be remembered for his humor, his warm heart, and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
