Tami Noreen Peterson, 63, of Humboldt, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 27, 2025 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
Tami was born on March 17, 1961, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to Thomas and Kathleen (Hardgrave) Glaze. Growing up, she lived a vibrant and adventurous life, traveling with her mother, a migrant worker, and her father, a truck driver. She often shared cherished stories of those travels, filling hearts with laughter and wonder at the many places and people she encountered.
In the 1980s, Tami made her home in Iowa, where she planted deep roots and built a life filled with love and joy. She was a gifted crocheter and seamstress, known to enjoy painting rocks and doing crossword puzzles. Her creativity extended to the kitchen, where she was an exceptional baker, bringing warmth and joy to those who had the pleasure of sharing her meals but her true passion was her granddaughters. Her granddaughters, Mikinli and Hollin, were the light of her life. Whether they were staying over for a night of pizza and movies or simply spending time together, Tami’s greatest happiness came from the precious moments she shared with them.
Tami’s legacy is carried on by her daughter, Mindi (Josh) Slaikeu, and their daughters, Mikinli and Hollin; her son, Brandon Glaze; her siblings, Nancy (Dave) Jowers, Beverly Zieroth, Dan (Jan) Glaze, Connie (Pat) Diaz, Betty (Steve) Haller, Tim (Debra) Glaze, and Ike (Dorian) Glaze; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Thomas and Kathleen; two infant brothers; her brother, Bill Glaze; her brother-in-law, Martin Zieroth; her nephew, Dan Glaze Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who preceded her in death.
Tami’s warmth, wit, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of storytelling, resilience, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
