Sarah Jane Cunningham, 81, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, in Edmond.
Sarah was born to H.K. and Lucille Smith, on September 27, 1942, in Vernon, Texas. On December 23, 1960, she married Larry Cunningham at the Rock Crossing Church in Grayrock, Texas. She and Larry enjoyed 63 years of marriage prior to his passing on July 23 of this year. Sarah worked as a bookkeeper for Jerry Scott Drilling for many years. She was a faithful member of the Seminole First Baptist Church. Sarah taught Sunday School and often helped with the youth group. She loved camping and fishing, particularly at Lake Eufaula. She was also very athletic, a high school basketball star and later an avid tennis player, which she continued well into her adult life.
She was preceded in death by her parents HK and Lucille Smith; her husband, Larry Cunningham; siblings, Sue Kennedy and Donnie Smith; and a son-in-law, Bart West.
Sarah is survived by; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Becky Cunningham, and Brian and Melissa Cunningham; a daughter, Kim West; grandchildren and their spouses, Cynthia and Adam Lowery, Jordan and Richard Dallas, Jacob Wise, Jeremy Porche, Tray Lindemann, Kelby and Darian Lindemann, Talon Wise and Blake Williams, and DeLanie and Jeremiah Canada; great grandchildren, Josephine, Liam, Rhett, Macyn and Rylan; sisters, Mary Cox and Patsy Beebe; a brother, Larry Smith; sister-in-law, Reba Smith; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
