Ronald John Petterec, born in Chicago, IL on September 5, 1945, passed away on December 14, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Ron gradated from Lane Tech High School in 1963. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in Germany. He was employed as a sheet metal fabricator and eventually started his own sheet metal company, Performance Metal Fabricators. He was also a co-owner of Sig, a radio control airplane manufacturer. Ron was a motorcycle and radio control airplane enthusiast. Ron is survived by his wife, Diana V. Bellus-Petterec; sons Daniel (Jennifer) Petterec and Brian Petterec; step children, Troy (Pam) Smith, Andrea (Joe) Ignelzi, and Geri (Bryan) Smith; grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, and Tim; and step-grandchildren, J.P., Harrison, Jake and Abigayle; by sisters Sandi (Thomas) Scott and Sharon Nelson, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Wanda (Solecki) Petterec and brother, Robert Petterec. Visitation Friday, January 7th, 9:30AM, Holy Family Parish until time of Memorial Mass at 10:30AM. Interment private
