Linda (Watson) Holbrook, the daughter of Lawyer Watson and Marie (Lyons) Watson was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 1, 1944. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Holbrook, brothers-in-law, Edward Alexander and Wendell McCline Sr., her niece Desiree Wilkerson, her sister Jeannetta McCline Carter, and nephew, Ramon W. McCline.
She was educated in the St. Louis public school system.
In October 1963, Linda was united in holy matrimony to Jesse Holbrook; no children were born of this union. She moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1965 with her husband.
She was saved at an early age at St. Johns AME church, St. Louis. She joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Detroit in 2005. She moved to North Carolina, where she joined Love and Faith Christian Fellowship. In 2015, she moved back home to St. Louis Mo., and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Ballwin in 2017.
She was employed by the Detroit Police Department in October 1967. She worked in communications, she was trained as a Fingerprint Technician, and retired from the Internal Affairs Section after 31 years of service to the City of Detroit Police Department.
Linda entered into Eternal Rest on, December 15, 2024.
She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sisters, Brenda Watson, and Sondra Alexander, one niece Nicole Alexander, 2 nephews, Wendell McCline (Gina) and Lorenzo McCline (Evette), and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
