Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda Sue Plunk Allen, 71, of Rayville, LA, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Alto Baptist Church, with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro.

Linda Sue Plunk Allen was born March 4, 1953, to Cecil and Grace Smith in Winnsboro, LA. She passed away December 13, 2024, at Glenwood Hospital from complications following heart surgery. She was predeceased by her parents and her husbands, Ronnie Plunk and Gary Allen.

Linda is survived by: her brother, Jerry Smith (Ann), and sister, Sylvia Kupferer (Tom); her children, Tonya Phillips and Sarah Wyatt (Justin); her grandchildren, Christina Dilley, Trey and Katelynn Massey; her step-grandchildren, Kelsey Faulk (George Adam), Kasey Wyatt, and Elizabeth Wyatt; and her great-grandchildren, Johnathan and Lilly Dilley and Tripp Faulk.

After graduating from high school, Linda pursued her passion for nursing, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeast Louisiana University in 1976. She later continued her education while working and raising a family, earning a Master of Science in Nursing from Grambling State University in 1999 and becoming certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Linda worked as a nurse for nearly fifty years, serving communities in Georgia and Alaska while her husband Ronnie was in the military. After returning to Louisiana in 1979, she continued to care for patients in Winnsboro and later in Columbia. She was a devoted nurse, admired by her colleagues and deeply loved by the thousands of patients she served.

Linda had a deep love for God and unwavering faith, which guided her throughout her life. She loved going to church and was a proud member of Alto Baptist Church, where she cherished worship and fellowship with her church family. Linda’s heart was full of love for others, and she had a remarkable ability to make everyone she encountered feel special and cared for.

In addition to her faith and nursing career, Linda was a talented musician who played the piano and sang in churches from the age of eleven. Like her mother, she found joy in cooking for and entertaining large crowds of family and friends. In her free time, she loved working in her flowerbeds during the warmer months and quilting. After her sister Sylvia and her husband built a home next door, Linda and Sylvia spent countless hours designing intricate quilts, always seeking out more challenging patterns.

Linda leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, creativity, and faith, as well as a void in the lives of her family and countless friends. Her lifetime of memories, love, and achievements will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Terry Massey, George Adam Faulk, Billie Massey, Justin Wyatt, Russell Kupferer, and Johnathan Kupferer.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Glenwood Regional Medical Center doctors and staff as well as Dr. Alan Miller.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro and from 10:00 AM until 11:00AM Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Alto Baptist Church.
