Kayla Nikou Obituary

Kayla A. Nikou, born on August 16, 1993, in Malden, Massachusetts, passed away on March 10, 2025 at the age of 32. .Kayla’s short life was marked by remarkable achievements and a dedication to those she loved that inspired many around her.

Kayla was a graduate of Melrose High School. She pursued further studies at Salem State College, Lesley University, Bunker Hill Community College, and Simmons University, eventually earning an independent license along with a Master’s Degree. Her commitment to education demonstrated her determination and passion for learning.

Above all, Kayla found her greatest joy in her role as a mother. She lovingly raised her ten-year-old son, John Anthony Nikou, who was the center of her world. Their cherished moments, especially those spent overseas with family and friends, formed her happiest memories. Kayla’s devotion to John Anthony and the time they shared traveling and exploring was a testament to her nurturing spirit.

Kayla is survived by her beloved son, John Anthony Nikou; her father, John Nikou; and her mother, Kimberlie (Will) Nikou. She is also survived by John Anthony's father Bradley Giadano, and other close family members including her aunt, Elaine Soiras, her uncle, Eric Soiras, and her godmother, Kathy Soiras, and her best friend Ashley.

Friends and family will remember Kayla for her warmth, her achievements, and the vibrant life she led with love and strength. Her presence brought light and love wherever she went, and her memory will be held dearly by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visiting Hours will be held on March 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St, Melrose, Massachusetts, 02176. A Funeral Service will be held inside the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. immediately following the Visiting Hours.
