Joanne Watson Douglass, age 92, of Jacksonville went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2026. She was a member of The United Methodist Church and was a Christ follower. She was born at home on December 6, 1933 in the Bayou Meto-Cato community of Jacksonville, Arkansas to Waverly Lewis Watson and Irene Wood Watson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, W.L. Watson, Jr. and James M. Watson; two sisters, Mildred Snider and Jeanette Pigg; and her loving husband of 60 years, John Bennett Douglass. She is survived by her two children, Pamela Douglass Kanakis of El Dorado, Arkansas and Phillip Alan Douglass (Beth) of Jenks, Oklahoma. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Amanda Whittaker (Jon) of Rogers, Arkansas, Lauren Dennis (Josh) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Adrian Douglass (Rachel) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kate Dolan (Ethan) of Conway, Arkansas as well as seven great grandchildren, Eva and Kellan Whittaker, Sawyer, Gage, Ruby, Hazel and Tilly Dennis. She leaves behind one sister, Mary Jane Williams of Starkville, Mississippi.

Special thanks to Brookdale Chenal Heights Senior Living, The Springs of Chenal Health & Rehabilitation and Hospice Home Care in Little Rock for their support and care. We appreciate the legal assistance provided by the law firm of Grayson & Grayson. Thank you to Chaplain Beverly White who was a dear friend and her minister during her long health journey.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Both will be at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 North JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas (501) 982-2136. Interment will follow at Bayou Meto Cemetery in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bayou Meto Cemetery Association, c/o First Arkansas Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 827, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.
