Elaine Ruth Feder Olson, age 95, of Green Lake, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Avina of Fond du Lac.
She was born September 1, 1930, in
Black Creek, WI, the oldest of six daughters of Arthur and Hazel Schultz Miller. Elaine was a 1948 graduate of Appleton West High School. On October 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Arthur Feder; he preceded her in death on February 7, 2003. On February 14, 2004, she was united in marriage to Rev. Harley Olson at Faith Community Church in Berlin. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2016.
Elaine lived most of her married life on the Feder homestead farm near Green Lake. She worked as a bookkeeper for Fabriko in Green Lake for 12 years, and at Kolpin Manufacturing of Berlin and Fox Lake for 25 years until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed quilt making, card making, was an avid reader, and loved to travel. Elaine was a woman of deep faith, whose life centered around her church and her family. She was a member of Faith Community Church, and faithfully served as church treasurer, Sunday School teacher, women's Bible study leader and sang in the church choir. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort where family and friends were always welcomed. Elaine's prayerful love of family and trust in God created a legacy of strength that inspired us all.
She is survived by her daughters, Annette (Wendell) Murray and Ella Mae (Gary) Stanelle; grandchildren, Jessica (Bryan) Johnston, Gretchen (Mike) Rauls, Joshua (Lisa) Murray and Caleb Murray; great-grandchildren, Alison (Mason) Giordano, Hunter Gade, Katelyn Rauls (fiancé, Sam), Parker Gade, Elizabeth Murray, Haylee Rauls, Hannah Murray, Cole Murray and Grace Murray; sisters, Dorothy Marks, Betty (Doug) Laux, Yvonne Ammeter and Sandra Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her husbands; sister, Phyllis (Oliver) Warner; and brothers-in-law, Leo Marks, Frederick Ammeter and Doug Cleveland.
The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to St. Croix Hospice and Avina Care Center in Fond du Lac for their excellent care and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Faith Community Church in Berlin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Terry Reiser officiating. Interment will be in Bluffton Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. A memorial has been established.
