Barbara Andrews Obituary

Barbara Ann Andrews, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 14, 2026. She was born on July 29,1935 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Asa C. and Erma B. (Applegate) Dorsey.
Barbara retired from State Farm Insurance after many years of dedicated service. She also worked for L.S. Ayres Department Store where she especially delighted in gift wrapping.
A creative spirit, Barbara loved to paint, and was a talented seamstress, creating many beautiful dresses and doll clothes and quilts.
She was an avid reader, and was very athletic in her youth. Above all else, Barbara's family was the most important part of her life.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Darrell) Evans and Linda (Victor) Hughes; daughter in law, Brenda Andrews; grandchildren, Cassy (Mark) Hamner, Jeremy (Heather) Evans, Melissa (Dana) Renholzberger, Ian Hughes, Sonnie (Joel) Kell, Stephanie (Sean) Rockall, and Michael (Cassy) Andrews; 18 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie Andrews; son, Steve Andrews; siblings, Robert Dorsey, Betty Kendall, and Tom Dorsey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.
Barbara will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, IN.
