STANLEY NIEDZIELA Obituary

Stanley Michael Niedziela, 68, of East Street in Hadley, passed away May 28th at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Born in Northampton June 14, 1953 he was the son of the late Stanley and Helen (Bogdanski) Niedziela. Stanley graduated from Hopkins Academy and received his Associates in Business from Holyoke Community College. He recently retired as a custodian for Hadley Public Schools where he worked for many years. He also worked, since his young adulthood, alongside his father on the family farm. He was currently helping his daughter and son-in-law with their farming business. Stanley was an especially gifted handyman. He loved all things mechanical. He was able to take a look at a piece of equipment, whether it was a tractor, car, computer or air conditioner, identify the problem, and repair it.

Stanley took pleasure in simple things. He enjoyed snowmobiling and boating, as well as sitting down to watch a good sit-com. He liked listening to polka music and in his younger years, going out to polka dances. The only music that could be heard coming from his pickup truck was polka music. He loved spending time with his family and telling stories. He was extremely proud of his daughters and his nieces and nephews.

He leaves his loving wife Catherine (Babiec) Niedziela; his daughters Elizabeth (Alex) and Emily; sister Nancy; and brother David (Janine); and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, June 3, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm at the Czelusniak Funeral Home, 173 North Street, Northampton, MA 01060. An In-House Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 4, at 10 am. Burial in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cooley Dickinson Hospital Emergency Department or Baystate Health, Davis Family Heart and Vascular Center.
