Kenneth H. Shaw, 79, formerly of Ocala, FL and Queensbury, NY went to be with his Savior on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Born October 29, 1944, at Glens Falls hospital, the son of the late Harold and Rosie (Bishop) Shaw.
Ken graduated from Fort Ann High School in 1962. He played basketball (#14) for Fort Ann Cardinals. In his yearbook it states, “he is a fun loving fellow” and “when there is work to be done Ken is always there to help”. That was who he truly was.
He worked for Finch Pruyn paper co. Where he got the nickname “Hawk Shaw”. He retired in 2006 after 40 years of service.
As a young man he loved to take his family camping throughout the Adirondacks. He was an active father who took his daughter tobogganing, ice skating, softball games, and always attended school functions. He also enjoyed gardening, jogging, hunting and fishing.
He and his 2nd wife, Charlene enjoyed traveling and fine dining. Eventually retiring in Ocala, Fl in 2014. There he enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, bocci and going to dances.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara (Bain) Shaw, mother to his only child Sheila. And by his second wife, Charlene.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son in law, Sheila and Scott Brumley.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, September 20th at Baker funeral home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury from 10-11 with a memorial service following. Burial will be private at the discretion of his family. This is truly a celebration that Ken is resting in peace and has been reunited with family and friends that have passed before him. Smiling and laughing is definitely encouraged, and “funeral attire” (black) is not necessary.
A special thanks and gratitude to his friends in Florida, Tom & Pat Gates, Martha Okler, and Marion Mau, who supported him and Sheila when he became ill.
In addition so much gratitude to the Saratoga Hospital Doctors and staff, and to the entire staff at The Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga, who became an additional family to him.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make a contribution to a charity of one’s choice. His favorite charity was Salvation Army, 37 Broad Street Glens Falls NY 12801 DONATE.

Sheila, I am so sorry for your loss. I am also very happy that your Dad is reunited with his family and friends who have been waiting to be with him again.
I know that you and Scott are going to try and find what is your new "normal". Be patient and The Lord will carry you through this.
