Bonnie Norris
1955 – 2024
KENOSHA - Bonnie Norris, 68 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL after an extended illness with her family at her side.
She was born July 3, 1955, in McHenry, IL the daughter of the late Andy and Ann (Galetka) McGinnis. Bonnie was raised on her family farm in Spring Grove, IL and remained there for many years, before settling in Kenosha in 1979. While working at Regal China, Antioch, IL, Bonnie met Robert Norris and they were united in marriage on March 15, 1980.
Growing up on a farm taught Bonnie a love of the outdoors, animals, and gardening. She was a talented cook and crafter; her favorite pastime was camping, where she enjoyed bonfires and hiking. She was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish – if there was a game on, you could be sure she was watching. Bonnie's Irish heritage led to her passion for a good St. Patrick's Day celebration, but Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday to celebrate with friends and family alike. In 2017, Bonnie retired from St. Catherine's Medical Center as a team lead of housekeeping after 15 years to spend time with the joys of her life, her grandkids.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Rob; three children, Robert A. (Holly) Norris of Kenosha, WI, Steven (Glenda) Norris of Florida, and Jennifer (Ricky) Sanderson, of Salem, WI; siblings, Audrey (the late Sam) Viverito, Darlene (the late Chuck) Lennon, Patsy (the late Bob) Irvin, Judy (the late Don) Delaney, Andy (Elaine) McGinnis Jr, David McGinnis, Tim McGinnis, Freddy McGinnis, Maureen (Bruce) Miller, and Billy McGinnis; a brother-in-law, Dave (Mimi) Norris; grandchildren, Minelia Hernandez, Jordy Sanderson, Reese Sanderson, Charly Norris and Zelda Norris; and countless nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and brothers-in-law, Bonnie was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Howard and Helen Norris; and siblings, Charlie McGinnis and Diane Ostergaard.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home with a memorial service commencing at 6:00 p.m.

I am so sad to hear about Bonnie´s passing. I also worked at Froedtert South. Bonnie was such a hard worker and always had a smile on her face. She was certainly missed when she retired. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person.
