John, to put it simply, you were awesome. You were always there if I needed someone to talk to. You made it easy because you weren’t a judgmental person. You led with a smile and that’s exactly how you would leave. Even though this is a big surprise to know you won’t be here physically, I feel blessed to know you while you were here. Thank you, brother, for blessing me with your kind spirit. Love and respect.

John...what CAN'T I say?? Fond remembrances of the Peterman & Gaskin families interacting in and out of Bethel Community. I'll never forget your constant smile, your zest for life & your zeal for service to God! Although I was closer in age to Frank, I still consider that we all "grew up" together. I'll treasure our friendship. I'll keep our spiritual discussions in my heart. I'll miss you, my friend! Praying for God's healing Hand to comfort & strengthen all members of your family. The family of New Philadelphia Community Church family is available for whatever service the family needs. God Bless! ~Rev. A.V. Gaskin, Pastor

Manchild John, I remember when you were born. A free spirit child full of curiosity and adventure for life. As a grown man and devoted father, I remember your open heart, your generous spirit, your big sky smile. Our cherished moments have now come to memories. And the blinking eye of time. The murmur of this planet are but a vapor. Dance in the clouds with the ancestors, and bequest us the big sky smile when they whisper that we will all be together again. Sail on, John, sail on, be free on your cosmic journey of freedom and peace, no more suffering, deep into the bliss of eternity.

I could always call my dad about something silly and know I wouldn’t be judged. Before I went off to college our tradition was to hang out every Friday. We’d get boba and usually Tijuana Flats. I feel nothing but blessed to have him as my father. Love you always daddy.

John was a wonderful man, we met at work years ago. Always had the best personality and a smile for everyone. I adopted him as my other son, that’s how I felt about. He always called me to check how I was doing, every day at the same time, just like clockwork. We would talk sometime for 20 to 30minutes. I’m missing him so much and he will always be in my heart. Love you John R. I.P. No more pain✝

John I met you the first time at Bond Clinic when my sister introduced you to me. I will never forget your warm smile and beautiful personality. You make an impact on everyone you meet. You were like a angel in human form. Everyone who knew you, will never forget you. Gone from this world, but forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved you. You have fought the good fight of faith, and have earned your crown. RIH my brother. My condolences and prayers to your wife, children, and family. May God comfort you all during this time. God bless.

Sweet and soft spoken John, John. We thought, we had the best neighborhood when we were kids. Everyone played together and truely looked out for each other. The way you would tilt your head and smile reminded me of your mom. I am so glad I had a chance to see you and take a picture with you last December 2023. You will truly be missed but God was ready for you to come home.
May God give the Peterman Family strength at this difficult time.

It's hard to believe that I am writing in this guess book for my dear friend John. Such a kind and thoughtful friend. A good listener and just overall a wonderful stand up guy. We lived in the same area of town just a couple of blocks away. He kept me laughing at him and with him.
Will be forever grateful that our lives and paths crossed.
Love you forever.
To the family you are in my prayers. Jeanya

John John and I grew up with each other right at the end of the alley on 27th Ave. John was one of my favorite people. As everyone says he was kind and would make u laugh. We were also rivals as he attended famu and I Bethune cookman. I didn’t get to see him often enough when he moved away but when I saw him we laughed the entire time and we would argue back and forth about our rival schools. John you will be missed and I am praying for the Peterman family. Love always

About my ism #1 and good friend. We spent many good days together. He aided me across the burning sands into P/R land. We laughed at my bachelor party - it was just he and I having a toast to my new life. He attended my wedding. Anytime my person came to Tallahassee, he was my first call and stop. Just like any Big Brother, he always insisted that I was to stay with him. He asked and refused any kind of funds. He even aided me during the start-up of my new construction firm last year while he was experiencing what has led to this moment. P/Rs never say die, They just fade into the sunset. He was definitely a SGT NEWBREED, drilling at life’s challenges without showing any fear or complaining. My person will REMEMBER him and HONOR him. A True Royal Blue & White Brother to the core. Until we meet again in the place not built with hands. Scoooneyyyy!!!! Stretch 1 Fall 91 -Ordained Priest of Decadence (RICO). Moreover, THANK YOU to his wife that my person had the pleasure of meeting who was taking care of him during this time. May you continue to be blessed and receive favor for you beautiful act of selflessness.
