Charlie was born on October 7, 1953, in Decatur IL, the son of William Jesse and Lois Irene (Hays) Sibthorp. He graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School in the Class of 1971. Charlie married Lillian Jean Mayfield on May 23, 1975, and had three children. He later married Pamela Lynn (Merritt) on September 17, 2004, in Decatur.
Charlie worked at Staleys, Crown Cork and Seal, Herald & Review, and Steve Shepherd Construction. He also worked in various trades such as carpentry, cement and fine woodworking.
Charlie grew up on the Sibthorp family farm, and lived in the Warrensburg area for the majority of his life. He later returned to the family farm and resided there until his death. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was dedicated to his faith as a member of the New Beginnings Church of God in Decatur, serving the church in various ways throughout his life.
Charlie had a wonderful sense of humor, loving spirit, and a creative mind. He was an avid gardener, starting seedlings and designing his garden each year. He found joy in sharing the produce - whether fresh or canned - with family and friends, and also selling it at the Farmer's Market.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Pam; brother, Craig Sibthorp; sisters: Cheryl Sibthorp and Carole Bradd (Marvin); cousin Katherine Betz; children: Bridget Sibthorp-Moecker (Tony), Kelly Sibthorp (Johnny Power), and Jay Sibthorp (Stephanie); stepsons: Arly Phelps (Mary) and Brad Phelps (Laney Moore); nine grandchildren, five nephews and their families.

Condolences of Charlie's passing. We were first cousins, but not in contact. I remember his parents well. I am thrilled we will have a reunion in heaven! Many blessings and prayers for God to surround you in his arms in this time of grieving. Becky Snyder ( my mother was Fred Sibthorp's daughter)
