Rachel was a beloved wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother. Her life was marked by a heart full of love for Jesus. She and her husband, Wes Johnson Jr., shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, building a legacy of love, service, and faith that touched everyone around them. Rachel dedicated much of her life to teaching and serving others. She was a children's leader for Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for many years and served as a Sunday School teacher for as long as anyone can remember. Her warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel at home, valued, and cherished. As the saying goes, "People may forget what you said, people may forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Rachel's kindness and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Rachel was born on November 20, 1949, in Quincy, Ill., to Dwayne and Rosalind (Thomas) Brickman. She graduated from Normal Community High School and attended Colorado State University, where she discovered her passion for education. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Dwayne and Rosalind; her brother, James (Jim) Brickman; and her sister, Rosalind Holt.
