Linda Cagle Obituary

Linda East Cagle was born April 12, 1946 in Leaksville, NC. She was a happy child with many friends and she continued these friendships throughout her lifetime. She had a special group of friends from high school, known as the "swing porch girls" as well as special friends Sherry and Ursula.

Linda had a hunger for knowledge and, for a time, after graduating college, taught high school math. She continued her education by studying in the evenings, after teaching school and raising a family, and became a CPA. At one time she owned her own accounting firm. She continued to help clients until her retirement 15 years ago.

She was a devoted mother to her two children. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dan, her daughter, Cathy, son, Chris, his wife Maria and their son, Drew. She was so excited to become a grandmother and she and Drew spent fun times together each week at "Camp Cagle". She was so proud of the young man he has become.

Helping others was a passion she instilled into her family and which they reflect in their actions daily. In retirement she was involved with delivering food to the needy, working with unwed mothers through Hope's Light Ministry and using her accounting background to help her Church.

Linda could be described as – loving, cheerful, caring, kind, respectful and nurturing.

She loved spending time with her friends, playing card games, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing mahjong. Others were always important to her.

It is impossible to fully describe what a wonderful gift God gave the world until she was called home to heaven, February 6, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In her honor, please give a warm smile to those you see each day.

When I was in third grade and Linda was a high school sophomore, we were next door neighbors. Even though I was so much younger than she, Linda always welcomed me when I came to visit her and her little white dog named Cindy. We would play hide and seek, build snowmen, and best of all she would play the piano and let me sing to her accompaniment. I missed her so much after she married Danny and moved away, and have always remembered the kindness she showed me.
Much love and sympathy to her family for your loss.

I have many good memories of Linda from her days at CIC. And I will be thinking of Dan, Cathy, and Chris and the family as you continue to mourn her loss. She always had a wonderful smile and loving manner. Prayers of comfort...

I have nothing but wonderful memories of Mrs. Cagle. She treated me as one of her own every time I entered her home. Although I haven't seen her in many years, I definitely know how many lives she touched and impacted in a positive way. She will be greatly missed. Sending love and prayers to Mr. Cagle, Chris, Cathy, Maria & Drew.
