Fresno, California - Douglas Henry Yockey, 83, of Fresno, CA, passed away on June 2, 2024. He was born on December 12, 1940. Doug lived his life on his own terms up until his final days.

Doug served in the United States Airforce and was honorably discharged in 1966. Following his military service, he pursued a long career as a mechanic, ultimately retiring from the Central Unified Transportation Department in 2001.

Doug had a passion for car racing and spent countless hours watching races. He also enjoyed showing and riding his Harley. He was a familiar face at the Yosemite Cafe and later at the Black Bear Diner, where the staff became like family to him, even going above and beyond to cater to his specific food preferences.

In his personal life, Doug/Pa was preceded in death by his wife, Gale, as well as his siblings Richard, Craig, and Stella, and his parents Archie and Lillian. He is survived by his daughters Tammy Rutledge (Clay), Sherry Reitz (Dennis), Terry Le Bar, his grandchildren Alyssa Smith (Matt), Tayler Hoke (Dylan), Courtney Le Bar, Kyle Le Bar, great grandchildren Walker & Wyatt Smith, brothers Russell Yockey (Marlyne), Ralph Yockey, and sister-in-law Shirley Yockey.
