Wilma Adams Obituary

PHELPS– Wilma G. Adams age 96, died peacefully at her sons home with family by her side.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday (September 21), 10 a.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. Rev. Gail Conners will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

It is requested that memorial donations be made to the Clifton Springs Hospital Auxiliary, 2 Coulter Road Clifton Springs, N.Y. 14432.

Mrs. Adams was born on December 2, 1926 in Booneville, N.Y. the daughter of the late Arthur and Belle Oram Gleasman.

She was a librarian for the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District and retired after 23 years. Mrs. Adams was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an active member of the Clifton Springs Hospital Auxiliary for over 30 years and was treasurer for many years. Mrs. Adams spent many hours doing hand work knitting, crocheting and sewing. She made many lap robes for the auxiliary, welcome baskets and quilts for family members.

She is survived by her children Randy (Kris) Knapp of Brunswick, Ga., Keith (Anne) Knapp of Newark, N.Y., Donna Exline of Kirkwood, Mo, Perry (Kim) Adams of Phelps, N.Y., Joel ( Andrea) Adams of Sewickley, Pa; 11 grandchildren; 12 Great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul "Pete" Adams; son Bruce Knapp; grandson Spencer Knapp; sisters Edith Malgee, Audrey Richotto; and brother Arthur Gleasman.
