Thomas Martz Obituary
Tommy was born in Waterloo on March 1, 1960, the only son of Thomas and Nancy (nee Stephens) Martz. He graduated from Romulus Central School and had worked at Brewers Construction in Ovid until his retirement. He was a member of the Ovid VFW Auxiliary and a volunteer for the Romulus Fire Department. Tommy was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Kelsey of Waterloo, father, Thomas Martz Sr. of Georgia; sisters, Terri (Robert) Taggart of Georgia and Tracey (David) Martz-Hoffman of Geneva and brother in law, Joseph LaGeorge of Mount Morris; his children, Andrew (Catherine) Avery of Seneca Falls, Beth (Aaron) Lapp-Mangum of Candor and Craig Lapp of Seneca Falls; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Tommy was preceded in death by his long time companion, Rhonda Lapp; a sister, Tami LaGeorge; and step father, Norman Kelsey.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, (November 6), at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid, officiated by Rev. Scott Avery. Prayers of committal will be held in Ovid Union Cemetery.
