Stella Pokrzywa Obituary

SENECA FALLS - Stella Pokrzywa, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at home surrounded by loving family.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday (October 4) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. A prayer service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery.

Stella was born on December 26, 1926 in Seneca Falls and she was the daughter of the late Frances Pokrzywa and Amelia (Glowiak) Pokrzywa. She received her bachelor's degree and went on to work in New York City in fashion. In 1954, Stella left New York City to establish the family hardware business, Port Bryon Hardware Store, with her two brothers. She enjoyed traveling around the world and taking care of her home, her house was her castle.

Stella is survived by her nephews: John, Robert (Mary) and James (Wendy) Pokrzywa; great nieces: Joanne and Julia Pokrzywa, Megan Small and Shelby Pokrzywa.

She is predeceased by her three brothers Frank, Walter and John Prorzywa.
