Larry Wagemaker Obituary
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (October 17) at the South Lyons Cemetery.
Larry was born in Lyons, N.Y. on Aug. 4, 1945 the son of the late Reginald and Alice Paton Wagemaker. Larry graduated from Lyons Central School, Class of 1963. In 1968, he graduated from the University of Florida, with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Larry started working for Clarke Engineering. Larry then became an associate for the Federal Economic Development Program which ran the Monroe County in Bloom Program, providing floral displays throughout the community. He also ran the horticulture program that developed the floral inventory for that program. Larry also designed floral displays on I-490. Larry retired from the Monroe County Water Authority where he performed the same floral outreach for the Water Authority properties. In his free-time he enjoyed personal landscaping, antiquing, estate sales and auctions.
Mr. Wagemaker is survived by his sister Joan Walls of Indiana; a brother Wallace (Barbara) Wagemaker of Texas; nephew Tim Walls; nieces: Stephanie Wagemaker and Amanda Drew; great nephews: Timothy and Nathaniel McCormick, Beckham Walls; great niece Elizabeth McCormick

I remember my classmate Larry as a tall, lanky friend always with a positive outlook and a great sense of humor necessary to navigate the difficult trip to adulthood. Enjoyed discussions with him at class reunions.
