Francis Slaby Obituary
Francis J. Slaby, 101, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Althea E. Slaby.
Born in Coaldale, PA on June 19, 1923, he was the son of the late Stephen M. and Mary C. Slaby, and was one of four children, and who preceded him in death; his brother Paul and his two sisters, Helen and Marie.
Francis was a graduate of Lehigh University and Johns Hopkins. He was a registered PE employed by Riegel Paper, Roche Pharmaceutical, and Givaudan Corporation. He was a veteran and served in the Armed Forces during World War II and the Korean War. He was an active member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Milford, NJ., and enjoyed golfing, skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking, and classical music.
He is survived by his son, John Slaby, and daughters, Patricia A. Jones and Barbara J. Haver, and eight grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Melissa Maupin, Kevin Jones, Alysia Krause, Stephen Slaby, Kristen Grievo, Jennifer Haver, and Alyssa Poinsett, as well as 18 great-grandchildren.

Dear John and entire Slaby family, So sorry to hear of the passing of Frank Slaby. He hired me as an engineer into Roche. He was my boss for many years. He was a kind man and always very fair in all his dealings with people. As an engineer he was a data driven person. Many good memories of Frank and Ernie Ecker. RIP. Frank

"A soldier from the greatest generation has passed away today." Francis, you are now relieved from your post. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. A job well done fellow war veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Farewell fellow war veteran.
