Robert G. Drain, of Sullivan formerly of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024, at his home at the age of 80. He was born on February 20, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa to Robert and Athena (nee: Peterson) Drain. On September 4, 1965, he married the former Mary Furman in Nevada, Iowa.
In 1963 he graduated from high school in Sioux City, Iowa and then went on to earn an associate’s degree from Iowa State University. He had worked for Wisconsin Electric for 30 years and then for 18 years in retirement worked for Home Depot in Delafield. He was passionate about the construction of homes, and golfing.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary, their daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Doeberlein of Jefferson and Teresa (Richard) Huber of Colorado, grandchildren Nicholas Lange, Seth (Fiancee Emily) Doeberlein, Jacob Huber, and Dakota Huber, his brother Theodore (the late Mary Ann) Drain, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Victoria (Les) Wise, and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Drain.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 300 Carroll St. Waukesha, Wisconsin 53186. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM. In Lieu of flowers memorials in Robert’s name may be directed to Rainbow Hospice 1225 Remmel Dr. Johnson Creek, WI 53094 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
