Pat Jones Obituary

JONES, Pat Grier Patterson Jones (Pat), age 78, passed away March 17, 2021, at his home in Dallas, TX. Pat was born June 26, 1942, in Ft. Worth, TX, to Kenneth and Nancy (Culver) Jones, the youngest of three boys. Pat graduated from Paschal High School, earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Sewanee: The University of the South, and earned a law degree from The University of Texas. Pat's legal career started in oil and gas, and he went on to spend several years in family law private practice and working for both the Dallas County District Attorney's office and Attorney General of Texas. He was an active member of the Dallas Bar Association. Pat was an involved family man, never missing one of his girls' events, and he supported their dreams in all ways possible. Pat was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, serving on the vestry and as an usher and Eucharistic lay minister. He had an appreciation for classical music and opera, as well as a passion for US and English history. After retirement, Pat was active in several social clubs, an investment club and his community at Presbyterian Village North, where he had tremendous care. Pat enjoyed his friends, his family, and reminiscing about the good old days like family car trips, visits with his girls to London, his favorite place, and coaching the Blue Tornadoes soccer team. Pat is survived by his two daughters Allison (Adam) Hofferica of Chicago, IL and Megan (Dustin) Clark of Austin, TX ; six grandchildren, William Hofferica, Thomas Hofferica, Mary Hofferica, Helen Clark, Dowe Clark, and Alice Clark; his former wife, Mary Jones, who remained a close friend, and his brother Kenneth (Ann) Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Frank. A memorial for Pat Jones will be held at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 11122 Midway Rd, Dallas, TX 75229, this summer when it is safe for everyone to gather and celebrate his life.
