Elsie M. Riedl

Elsie M. Riedl (nee Meyr) of Arlington Heights, was born on May 21, 1928, in Crete, Illinois, to Albert and Marie (nee Piepenbrink) Meyr. She passed peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025.

She graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Arts, was a dedicated member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights and enjoyed playing bridge with various friend groups. She and her husband Fred also served on multiple international Lutheran Church mission trips.

Elsie is survived by her sons, Jordan (Julie) Riedl and Rick Riedl; her grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, and Jaclyn Riedl; her sister-in-law, Jo Meyr; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years; her parents; brother, Victor Meyr; and sister-in-law, Monie Meyr.

Visitation is from 4PM until 8PM, Friday, February 14, 2025, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.

In State 10AM, Saturday, February 15, 2025, until time of funeral service 11AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights, Illinois. Entombment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Monday, February 17.

Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, or the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022.
