Suzanne Journey Obituary

(nee Bush), 79, of Mentor, passed away December 7, 2023 at Governor's Pointe, Mentor. She was born May 15, 1944 in Rochester, NY., to the late Earl and Madeline Bush. Mrs. Journey retired from Parker Hannifin Corporation, where she worked in both catalog and printing services and in their corporate office. She also worked as an Usher at the Front Row Theater and loved attending musicals and plays. Suzanne was a lifelong lover of reading, she was an active member in her Bunco group for 40+ years, and always had a craft project nearby, including crochet, stained glass and quilting. She enjoyed traveling the world by plane, train and bus, but was never happier than when she was driving in her car. Suzanne was a notorious card shark and you could always count on her to win during family game night. She was caring and generous, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her patience, love and strength will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her children, Katherine "Katie" (Joseph) Perdue, Karla (Denise DeBratto) Journey-DeBratto and Bernard "Bernie" D. Journey; grandchildren Megan (Tom) Brandt, Kelley McDonnell, Matthew Perdue and Madeline Perdue; great-granddaughter Holly Brandt; sister Debra Bush; and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Preceding Suzanne in death are her husband, Bernard "Bernie" J. Journey; and sisters, Phyllis (John) Dietz and Linda (Stu) McCann. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060. A funeral service to conclude the visitation will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland, Ohio 44026. Please meet at the Mausoleum.
