Mr. Santoni was one a fine example of an instructor who truly enjoyed his craft and that exuberance made math enjoyable for a non-math kid. I will never forget stories of the dulcimer and of White Caste. Thanks for sharing your gift with the world. Blessings to you and family.

Very saddened to hear of Mr. Santoni's passing. As other past students have said, he was my very favorite teacher at Marist, and the primary inspiration behind my pursuit of a Mathematics related career. Just heard of Mr. Santoni's passing. Sad to learn of it. My sincerest condolences to his family. He was the best teacher I ever had (Honors Calculus at Marist). He was so good that every day we spent the first 35 minutes of class discussing something interesting but not necessarily math related, could have been current events, music, classic cars, or anything. In the final 10 minutes of class he would present a concept so well that everyone just got it - amazing. Never had another teacher like that. He was inspiring.

My sympathy to the Santoni Family. At the beginning of each school year Jerry would coose the largest fiction book he could find in the Marist Library and would vow to finish it by the end of the school year--this is one of my memories of Jerry during my years as the Librarian at Maist. Mimi OKeefe

I was privileged to have Mr. Santoni for two years as my math teacher at Marist H.S. More important than mathematics, Mr. Santoni was a kind man who treated everyone with respect. Even after more than 30 years since I had him as a teacher I am very sad to hear of his passing.

My deepest condolences to your family. Mr. Santoni touched the lives of so many over the years; generations of Marist men were impacted by him in so many positive ways.
I will always remember his writing on the board of "Respect & Kindness for All"... he drove this motto into his students, and I'm quite certain it resonated for the vast majority of them.
Heaven has gained a bright light; his memory will live on through stories told of fun times in his classroom by students for years to come.

A sweet, gentle, and generous soul, Jerry touched us all with his humble and unassuming ways. As a member of the South Suburban Dulcimer and Folk Music Society I was a happy witness to his heartfelt and soulful adaptations of musical pieces that oftentimes moved me to tears. He was both an artist and a scholar...a lovely and dear friend to all and we will all miss him very much.

Jerry was a dear friend and fellow member of the South Suburban Dulcimer and Folk Music Society. His amazing renditions of operatic arias will always be remembered--such a sensitive, talented performer without equal who unerringly coaxed the beauty of the music from his wonderful instruments. We will miss his wonderful demeanor and marvelous music. My life is richer for having known Jerry.

My condolences to the Santoni family. Though I never had Jerry as a teacher, I remember him when I was a student and certainly as a faculty member at Marist. He was always the quintessential math guy.
